An existing house of modest size was demolished and replaced with a 4 storey new build, to meet our clients needs and expanding family. As the property is located in a conservation area, we worked closely with the conservation officer at LB Wandsworth to develop the parameters of the design – the result is a modern vernacular, sympathetic to the location, and its neighbours and an enhancment to what existed before.
The house is constructed from a concrete frame, above a full basement and comprises of a range of reception and living areas at ground and basement levels, with a master suite and family bedrooms on upper levels. The basement floor opens onto a lower terrace, with a full landscaping design implemented by Nash Garden Design.
The house features a number of sustainable and energy saving measures, including a ground source heat pumps, provided by 2 boreholes, and a full MVHR ventilation system.
