The Fairway Partnership asked us to convert an existing coach house and workshop in a small mews, close to Clapham Junction station in Battersea. As the project developed it became apparent that to get the best return on their investment, it would be more efficient to completely rebuild both parts of the site – retaining only an existing rear boundary wall. Planning consent for this was obtained on the basis that the new brick facade broadly reflected the buildings it replaced. The development provides three 2-bed mews houses for private sale. As the flats only have a single aspect, we introduced rooflights where possible to bring in daylight to communal parts and bathrooms. This, despite their compact size, and with a very efficient plan makes the houses feel very spacious.
