We recently completed the conversion of a brownfield site in Kennington into six upside down townhouses. Our client purchased the site with planning permission in place and our job was to look for ways to enhance the site through great architectural design, but also to discharge a number of onerous planning conditions and to prepare a builder’s works package for the contractor.
It has been an extremely successful scheme; so much so that our client allowed us to give a tour for our other clients, colleagues and partners. We wanted to show how good architectural design can contribute to improving the viability and commercial success of any site, but especially those in tight, constricted and challenging locations.
