If you’ve visited our site before, you’ll probably know that 2008 is the year in which Granit Architects celebrates it’s 20th birthday. We held a party on the 16th July at the Battersea Arts Centre which was fantastic fun and rang with the sound of Champagne corks popping.
We had a mixture of staff from the past and present, clients, contractors, suppliers and journalists, which made an interesting crowd. Director Robert Wilson made a short speech, during which he thanked everyone for their contribution to the practice’s success over the years and of course he cut the birthday cake – after all what birthday party would be complete without a cake.
All of the guests received a copy of our new book ‘Granit Plus Twenty’ too, for which we have received plenty of great feedback. We hoped that giving the book away would help us to raise some money for Habitat for Humanity – our chosen charity – and so far we’ve received a handful of donations.
It has been a colourful twenty years in practice and we are already looking forward to the 30th birthday party..!
Here are a few photos of the party for all of those who did (or didn’t) attend to enjoy.
