Since Granit was founded in 1988 as an architect in London, the practice has worked on projects all over the UK and internationally too.
We wanted to see where we have worked and so created the interactive maps below which show the location of our projects going back to the year 2000. We were surprised to find we have worked on a whopping 1,068 projects since 2000 or on average just over 50 projects every year.
You can have a good look at where we have worked by clicking around the maps below. The orange dots are the projects that started or were completed up to the end of December 2020 and the black dots are projects we have been appointed to work on this year.
This first map shows where in the UK and internationally we have worked. The overwhelming majority of the buildings we have designed are in England, but we have also worked in Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Bangladesh since 1988.
We are based in Clapham in South West London and always feel that a lot of our work comes from within the M25. In fact, 90% of our projects since the year 2000 have been within the M25, as the map below shows:
Did you know within Greater London there are 33 London boroughs?
Each borough has its own planning department and with that comes differences in their approach to handling planning applications and how they apply planning policy. It often pays to work with a team familiar with each planning team. There probably aren’t too many architects with the level of experience we have with the planning teams at Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton, Richmond, Kingston, Hammersmith and Fulham, Croydon and Westminster.
But, we really have worked all across the Capital as you can see from the map above.
We dug a little deeper into our project data to see how much we have worked in our immediate neighbourhoods in London. It turns out that 65% of our projects are located within South and South West London postcodes, as you can see on this map:
If you zoom into the map around Clapham, it seems there is hardly a road we haven’t worked on since 2000.
We truly are London’s Architect, or at least that’s what we call ourselves on Twitter (are you following us?).
Over the years we have built up a significant track record of working with clients, suppliers and of course planning authorities in London and across the UK.
If you have a project you would like to discuss, you can find out more about how we help our clients with interior design and architectural services, or you can contact our office and speak to a member of our design team if you have a project you would like our help with.
