Thomas joined Granit in late 2018, having studied Architecture at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with honours. He had previously studied an HNC in Construction before undertaking his Bachelors. Thomas worked as a building surveyor for five years prior to joining Granit, working for the premises teams at Marstons Breweries, Robinsons Brewery, Mitchells & Butlers, and for a number of architects/designers in the West Midlands and North West. Thomas is an expert at using surveying equipment and has undertaken the whole spectrum of project sizes (residential/commercial properties, agricultural land surveys, high rise banks) all over the UK. He brings this experience in recording existing building fabric to all the projects Granit undertakes now to increase accuracy and ease of delivery of the end product. Thomas is interested in the subtlety and poetics of design, and how these elements can affect the user experience of a space. He intends to study his MArch, and to continue his studies to become an Architect. Thomas' Architectural influences include Alvaro Siza, Alvar Aalto and Tadeo Ando. Outside of Architecture, Thomas enjoys a classic London pub (with a pint of stout), making gourmet sandwiches in the Granit kitchen and challenging Tom Vincent to running races.
