Granit recently had an office trip to the German capital to study the range of old and modern buildings in the city.
We started with a visit to the exceptional Neues Museum, renovated and sensitively extended by David Chipperfield Architects. Next up was Libeskind’s Jewish Museum, followed by remains of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charly. Then a visit to the Holocaust memorial by Peter Eisenman, New National Gallery by Miese van der Rohe, Potsdammer Platz by Renzo Piano and others. The fully packed day concluded with an evening visit to the stunning Reichstag remodelled by Foster and Partners and dinner next to the Brandenburg Gate.
