Highlights from Decorex

There’s nothing quite like Decorex, the annual interior design show where international brands and designers show-off their newest collections of exquisite furniture, fabric, lighting, decorative craft, contemporary art and more. The interior design team at Granit goes along every year to make sure we’re up to date with the latest and greatest in products and styling. Here are some of our highlights from Decorex this year.

Hurlingham – The Bath Company

Hurlingham’s impressive range of interesting and unique baths and fittings are perfect for creating a centre point in any bathroom. They are made from high-quality materials and seem to have endless bespoke finishing options.

Here are three of our favourites:

Statement baths seemed to be one of the focal points of the show. Lots of displays showcased baths as a way to create an interesting feature in your bathroom.

The Stone and Ceramic Warehouse

As usual, there was a huge array of stone and ceramic products on show. We saw some beautiful large-format tiles available in various patterns and we were particularly impressed with the Onyx products (see below) available in different colours.

There were plenty of worktops and smaller format tiles also on display and it was great to see the various applications for porcelain tiles too. These have many benefits over natural stone, not least the fact they are usually more cost-effective.

ORAC Décor

The ORAC stand was well worth visiting with a good display of their 3D profiles including architraves, skirting, mouldings, panelling made from polyurethane which allow for greater detail and interesting details. Their range also includes 3D wall coverings and light fittings too.

Volevatch

Volevatch is a French company that specialises in high quality, unique sanitaryware with a range of contemporary to traditional products. We loved the look and feel of their display, including this striking bathroom with a wonderful bath and vanity unit.

The Beardmore Collection

The Beardmore sign and handle display showing its range of finishes was amazing. Really high-quality finishes and range of ironmongery products that can match any finish so there is never an issue with consistency between ironmongery, switch plates, etc.

We loved the Beardmore stand this year.

Cornelius Beaumont

Cornelius was showing a broad range of flooring including FORÊT (pictured) which are tongue and groove planks formed with end of grain blocks in a variety of patterns. We think these could be combined to create unique designs and you can expect to see some of Cornelius Beaumont products in our designs in the not too distant future.

Design Encounter

It was amazing to see the collaboration between designers to create beautiful and unique spaces on the Design Encounter stand. We thought these three examples were worthwhile taking some inspiration from.

Heathfield & Co Lighting

When it came to beautiful table lamps, pendants and sconces, Heathfield was top of the pile. We loved the variety and obvious quality in their collection.

Arte

For wall coverings, Arte showcased a fantastic display of textured and 3D products with interesting, fresh designs. Take a look at the zebra print wallpaper below.

Morris & Co.

On the Morris & Co stand there was a traditional ink press and you could watch the technicians create sheets of unique wallpaper. We loved the bespoke nature of this product and especially because we were encouraged to have a go too.

Recycled Baths

In an area of the show for guests to sit and read there were chairs designed and built from old bathtubs. Clever, sustainable and perfect for something unique too. Imagine turning your old bathtub into a new lounge chair rather than seeing it go to landfill.
