It’s not something a company would usually announce, entering an awards scheme, but in this case we felt it worthwhile. Robert Wilson has been involved with these awards for a few years and actually participated as an assessor in 2006. However, we felt the time was right to enter Granit Architects into the small business category for this year’s awards.

To enter we had to complete a comprehensive proforma document in which we had to describe how Granit is managed. It was a serious challenge to complete but, in reality, the real hard work has been in preparing the business for entry into the competition. This has involved putting in place a structured quality and management system, a programme for continued business growth, suitable human resourcing and much more.

We are proud to say that even if we do not win an award, the effort we have put in over the past two years has already paid us back for the effort.
