We have recently achieved planning for a new build houses in Earlsfield, South London.
The scheme involves the creation of 3 new build houses on a narrow former industrial site in Earlsfield, London.
The site imposed a number of difficult planning constraints on the development including a high water table, a noisy industrial unit along one flank and issues relating to overlooking and overshadowing of the rear of the residential terrace along the opposite flank. The resulting scheme is an contemporary terrace clad with vertical timber battens and horizontal zinc banding set in a landscaped garden.
Windows are orientated to avoid any overlooking to the adjacent properties and high performing acoustic glazing specified to overcome the noise from the industrial units.
The scheme has been designed to meet level 3 on the code for sustainable homes.
The developer client bought the site with an original planning approval for the 3 dwelling scheme.
Granit provided a service to develop the design into a builders work package including:
- The discharge of conditions attached to the planning approval.
- Submission of minor amendment planning application.
- Resolution of the design to meet building control compliance.
- Technical and Construction Design
