Granit has recently completed a Passivhaus Competition Entry for the ‘Sunday Times Britain’s Future Home Competition 2014’.
An exciting contemporary design with a strong foundation in Sustainable Building, the ‘Route Haus’ has given us a fantastic opportunity to show off our design skills and develop our understanding of the Passivhaus Standard.
The brief for the competition provided a great challenge; to achieve a Passivhaus Certifiable building whilst designing an exciting and family friendly holiday home. The ‘Route Haus’ is a 4-bed 190m2 Lakeside Eco-House designed in conjunction with Passivhaus Certified Consultant Richard Bendy of Natural Action. It integrates the latest technology with the Passivhaus’ ‘fabric first’ design approach.
