Planning consent for air rights scheme in Dunstable

We’ve recently obtained full planning consent for a new storey to a block In Dunstable, Bedfordshire, to provide four new 2-bed flats, utilising the existing air rights. The existing site occupies a 3 storey building comprising a mix of residential and retail use. The existing commercial use on the ground floor is to be maintained. The proposal is to construct a framed structure above the existing flat roof that accommodates a curved overhung roof that projects above the existing parapet. Externally, the walls are to be clad in a light grey cladding apart from the front, main elevation which is to be finished with a curtain walling system to match existing.

There were some complicated issues over the provision of parking, that needed to be negotiated and overcome with the council.
