Planning Consent Achieved in Conservation Area of Battersea

We have just obtained planning consent, at Planning Committee, to remodel, extend and create a new basement under this house in Prince Of Wales Drive, in a conservation area close to Battersea Park. Our proposals, developed in close association with planners and conservation officer,  will retain much of the existing house, removing a 1960s extension and replacing it with a contemporary, yet sympathetic and subservient brick extension – conceived as a modern ‘coach house’. The extension partially fills the gap, blocking views of the post war tower block to the rear of the site and creating a dialogue with the immediate neighbour. A basement under the house will contain kitchen, dining and living areas, opening onto a remodelled courtyard garden. On upper floors the house is to be restored and refurbished to a high standard to meet the requirements of a modern family home.

Work is due to start on site later this year.
