Planning consent in LB Richmond

We are delighted to have gained householder planning consent from The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames for the construction of a contemporary ground floor extension to a property  in Munster Road, Teddington.

Our proposal is a rear, brick and glazed contemporary extension to create a bright, open plan kitchen and living area. The scheme also includes the reconfiguration throughout the ground floor, redistributing the existing spaces, creating a more useful and flexible family home.

The rear elevation of the extension is primarily glazed, with large sliding glass door panels, connecting the external space to the kitchen and living area. Vertical timber fins cover this glazing to prevent excessive heat gain by moderating sunlight levels while simultaneously acting as a contemporary and decorative feature along the rear wall. In addition to the glazing, this new sizable kitchen space, will receive even further natural light through the addition of two large roof lights on the new flat roof above.

The scheme increases the internal floor area by 25 sqm allowing for not only a larger kitchen, but also allows for a more spacious utility to replace the smaller existing, more storage space, a den room for the children in the family, as well as a secondary and quieter living area, detached from the open plan kitchen-living space.

We are now progressing with RIBA stages 3 & 4 working through the technical and interior design details, with a view to starting on site early 2019.
