We have recently obtained planning permission to remodel an arts and crafts house in Reigate, which falls under Reigate and Banstead Borough Council
Our scheme to update and extend an arts and crafts home, gained consent after a detailed and proactive effort with the planning department. The initial response to our designs, was that it was contrary to policy, but we then worked proactively, within the context of the particular house and citing the work of Voysey and Lutyens, we were able to argue our case and obtain consent. The ground floor extension with a ‘cat-slide’ roof and projecting bays will go on site in the new year.
Our clients whose family have lived in the house for over 40 years were keen for a contemporary solution for modern living, and sustainable updates while maintaining the character of the original build.
The next stages of the project are to refine the detail and add our interior expertise to deliver the brief.
