Planning Permission in Kensal Green

We were pleased to have gained planning permission in Kensal Green from the London Borough of Brent for a new build house.

The site is in Kensal Green, nestled in between Harlesden and Kilburn in North West London. It is a small sight of just 205 sqm occupied by a garage building used to store commercial vehicles. It is flanked on every side by substantial detached family homes.

It has been quite a challenge; the site has a history of refusals by the local authority dating back to 2009 and seemingly on the basis that previously proposed schemes were overdevelopment of the site. We were appointed to take on the challenge of designing a scheme that would be acceptable to the planning department at London Borough of Brent and provide a commercial return for our client.

Our scheme involves the demolition of the existing garage and erection of a two-storey, three-bedroom detached house with a basement and sunken garden. The scheme has a gross internal area of 183 sqm.
