Project Information
We were asked to carry out the full renovation and refurbishment of a three bedroom penthouse apartment alongside Albert Bridge, overlooking the Thames and Battersea Park.
Our design has transformed the property into a luxurious two bedroom home for our client. Open plan living was a key part of the client’s brief so we started with the entrance floor and created an open kitchen / living / dining area which have a great connection to the terrace space.
By reconfiguring the upper floor we created a large master suite that stretches the width of the apartment and is flooded with natural light and views of Battersea Park and The Thames. There are large bespoke wardrobes and a small study area within the room also with a master ensuite behind. The master ensuite features natural limestone tiling on the walls and floor with a bespoke shower tray in the same material. A beautiful stone basin and vanity unit made from lava stone are displayed and viewed as soon as you enter the space. A picture window was also designed in the shower enclosure to take in the views of the top of the trees in the park.
The client wanted the stairs to give a real wow factor to the space so the existing staircase was replaced with striking oversized stone and timber treads. An Italian limestone was teamed with dark stained oak to create the statement piece. The lower treads were extended full width which creates additional space for displaying artwork and books or even a space to sit and read.
The kitchen also received the stone treatment with an island completely clad in a beautiful light limestone with stunning texture and variation. The smooth black matt lacquer doors give a contrast to the natural material. To finish the look, the extractor is clad in mirror and the shelves at the back of the space feature a mix of metal, wood and stone.
Dark oak floor has been used throughout the scheme, with the walls a contrasting white so that the client could display all of their beautiful art pieces. A guest bedroom and separate bathroom was retained and upgraded.
