We helped our clients to extend and refurbish this five-bedroom Victorian property in Wimbledon. It now perfectly fits the needs  of their family.

The Brief

The primary brief was to replace an existing conservatory and extend into the garden, creating a large modern kitchen and living space and achieving a better connection between home and garden.

The Solution

Our solution was to remove the conservatory and create a large, multi-level and open plan kitchen living space. A sunken lounge features a large corner window that maximises the natural light and views across the garden.

A pitched roof enhances the head height and draws light through the high level angled windows which the zinc-clad fascias accentuate.

The kitchen and pantry were made bespoke by the contractor, GSB Building.

We have used the significant level change to create stepped terraces that provide distinct social and quiet spots in the garden. The upper deck sits flush with the internal floor level to smooth the transition between the external and internal areas.

The Result

Our clients are delighted with the result:

“We would definitely recommend Granit to anyone needing an Architect, especially if they’re looking for something a little different. They really do make dreams come true.”

This extension added approximately 25m2 of extra living space, and the building programme took six months.
