Project Information
We were employed to oversee the design and construction works for the world renowned and long established firm Colefax and Fowler’s new showroom and office in Pimlico Road, Chelsea. Working hand in hand with their interior design team, our role was to gain the necessary planning and conservation area consents from London Borough of Westminster for the alterations, as well as liaising with the Grosvenor Estate to obtain the necessary Freehold consents. We were then tasked with providing technical information and coordinating structural engineering, M and E and specialist sub contractor designs into a full package to be priced and delivered by Silver Interiors, the main contractors. We oversaw the building contract on a tight delivery programme to fit out the five storey building: basement, ground and three further floors above.
At ground and entry level, an open plan showroom has been created, with new high quality shop fronts manufactured and installed by Neil Burke joinery. At basement level a series of glazed partitions define working offices and fabrication areas for the employees – with further office space at upper levels. Circulation spaces and welfare areas were all upgraded, along with AC provision and IT for the whole building as well as general repairs to the fabric of the building.
