Project Information
Our proposals remodeled, extended this property in Prince Of Wales Drive, located in a conservation area close to Battersea Park, in South-West London. Our design, developed in close collaboration with the planners and conservation officer at Wandsworth, retained much of the existing house, removing a 1960s extension and replacing it with a contemporary, yet sympathetic and subservient brick extension – conceived as a modern ‘coach house’. The extension partially fills the gap, blocking views of the post war tower block to the rear of the site and creating a dialogue with the immediate neighbour. A new basement under the house contains a kitchen, dining and living areas, which open onto a remodelled courtyard garden. On upper floors the property has been restored and refurbished to a high standard to meet the requirements of a modern family home.
Having obtained a series of planning permissions from London Borough of Wandsworth, we then provided a full RIBA Stage 3-6 service of technical design and contract administration.
We worked hand in hand with Jane Churchill interiors to coordinate a high end contemporary interior.
