This Victorian Terraced property in Battersea has been reconfigured and remodelled throughout the ground floor. We demolished an existing rear and side extension, removing a tired kitchen and opened up the rear plan of this Victorian house. We rationalised the plan to create a modern practical family kitchen, dining and informal living space, distinctly different from the formal traditional front ground floor of the house.
We utilised frameless glass for large uninterrupted roof lights coupled with a minimal framed sliding door system and London brick externally to create a sharp crisp modern extension. A minimal two-tone kitchen with an island and feature LED pendant lights add to the aesthetic. A timber effect ceramic tile laid front to back internally and externally blurs the inside and outside, especially when the doors are fully open. The garden was remodelled with a simple retaining wall in engineering brick.
