We were approached by two adjoining owners, to create an additional storey to each of their neighbouring apartments in Battersea. One was viewing it as a commercial investment to sell on, the other as an investment in their own home. Both owners extended their demise to maximise the air rights potential of the site, negotiating with the freeholder LB Wandsworth Council.

The additional storey comprisesof a contemporary glazed box offering new living space and a kitchen, opening onto external terraces with views of the River Thames, in doing so creating upside down apartments.

The design transforms the two existing apartments into open plan duplexes filled with light and space, creating a blueprint for maximising the potential of roofspaces in London.
