Summer outing 2012

Granit’s summer outing this year was the traditional mix of Architecture and non-architectural activities. In the morning we visited Eltham Palace in Kent, a childhood home of Henry VIII and extensively converted in the 1930s into an Art Deco mansion by the Courtauld family.

We then braved the new ‘Up at the O2’ experience, which involved harnessing up and traversing across the roof of the former Millennium dome. Great views of the 2012 Olympic site and South East London from the top.

We finished off with a trip on the new ‘Emirates’ cable car across the Thames and a KPMG Thames clipper river cruise back into central London. After a great day and enough corporate sponsorship to last us till next year, we celebrated with a few drinks.
