We asked Karen and Paul about their experience of working with Granit for the extension of their home in Wimbledon, South West London. We are so grateful for their response below.
Granit was recommended to us by our building contractor GSB, who, having heard our ideas, thought Granit would be the perfect fit.
We were looking to extend our kitchen area and living space over one floor but wanted something different to the ordinary box on the back of a house. We wanted an open-plan space, Crittall windows, with a slightly industrial vibe.
Rob & Mantas from Granit came over to discuss our ideas, Mantas then came back with three or four sketches he thought we would like, one of which was an L-shape design with an asymmetric zinc-clad roof, incorporating Critall doors, windows wrapping around the front, a sunken lounge and different levels of patio and planters outside.
We were thrilled when we saw the design as it was exactly what we had hoped for. Rob and Mantas had answered our brief perfectly, and from the outset took into consideration our budget and listened when we had to make changes.
Granit has been amazing, not only with the design but also in answering any questions during the build and in helping to resolve the occasional issue that cropped up along the way.
We definitely recommend Granit to anyone needing an Architect, especially if they’re looking for something a little different. They really do make dreams come true.
