Wimbledon project nearing completion

Our project in Wimbledon is nearing completion on site.

The glazing has just been installed at our project in Winbledon, working with Pace Construction to deliver a high quality home. Our client’s brief was to replace a tired, existing extension (see below) with a new rear and side extension to provide a large kitchen/living/dining space. They wanted a larger area to become a focal point for the family and guests for years to come. The scheme also must provide much-needed storage space and a separate utility room, shower room and pantry, allowing the main living spaces to remain open and uncluttered.

Our design focuses on bringing natural daylight into the centre of the plan, and creating a connection between internal and external spaces. It features a large wrap-around extension with expansive glazing, including large-format sliding doors, roof lights and a feature oriel window that doubles as a window seat.

As well as allowing daylight to penetrate the inner floor plan, the large sliding doors can be retracted to allow the Dining-space to spill out onto the patio and landscaped gardens beyond. As a budding chef, our client was also keen to have a practical, yet engaging kitchen area that would unite the living, dining and external spaces. This was achieved through careful internal planning and the integration of a long island unit with central hob that faces out towards the dining and living spaces, utilising the kitchen as a backdrop for evening or weekend entertaining.

Planning Permission in Raynes Park

Glazing Wimbledon

The massing of the extension has been well-considered, with an asymmetrical pitched roof allowing for generous space internally whilst not being overbearing at the neighbouring boundaries on either side.
